I’m joining in on two things this month. Both are centered around writing and my goal is for these two challenges to help me get consistent in writing and posting. If I want to make this a part of my entrepreneurial journey, I need to share some content, right?

First, Effy Wild does a “Blog Along” challenge twice a year. She’s been an inspiration to me for a few years now, and I love her style. So I’ve taken up the challenge, which is to post a blog a day and comment on 3 other blogs from fellow artful bloggers each day. I love this accountability as I’ve been in other blog groups and it often comes down to everyone posting their blogs but no one commenting on others. Since I know the basics of blog promotion, getting my posts out there is how to move forward. And I love the variety of posts that come from this group of bloggers.

Second, Camp NaNo Wrimo is happening. Not sure what that is? Have you heard of NaNoWriMo? National Novel Writing Month, to be exact. Every November, writers dust off their keyboards, legal pads or cocktail napkins and set out to write 50,000 words in one month. There also use to be a script writing version in April, but this has given way to Camp NaNo instead. Join a bunch of writers in your virtual cabin and write. As far as I know, it’s different from the full NaNo as there is no set word count to achieve. Write. Just write. Poetry. Screenplays. Plays. Blog posts. Tweets. Make a personal goal and work to achieve it.

So I’m going to do both with this blog. I want to make my writing practice more prominent in my daily life, I want to blog and I want to go to Camp.

Will you join me? If so, check out the links above. Glad to have you.

  1. I NaNo’d successfully once, back in 2002. It was so exciting! Camp Nano sounds more my speed these days, though, since I write every day – blog, poetry, journal, something – so it would be a guaranteed win for me and who doesn’t like those?? 🙂
